Rayden's Appointment
Rayden had another doctors appointment yesterday. He screamed his head off when they did his x-ray. He hates the x-ray machine and I wasn't allowed to stay with him. He was fine once that was done. The doctor is amazed at how much bone growth he has had. Rayden can do whatever he wants again! To celebrate I took him to the new playground above our house. He went down only the really big slides and climbed up the rock wall all by himself. He loved every moment of it and didn't want to leave when we went to get Lexi from school. He will be going back to the doctor in 3 months just because the doctor wants to see all the new bone growth. He was loving Ray's progress. We are excited Rayden has healed so fast. Yesterday was a little hectic for us. After we picked Lexi up from school I had to go into work to do a little catch up. I took the kids to McDonalds as a treat for Ray. Liesl decided to take the kids to her new house to play so they wouldn't be so bored. Five minutes after she left I got a call. Lexi was sick and had thrown up in the van. So needless to say I didn't get any work done but I did get Lexi home where she is still feeling under the weather but we hope she will back to normal soon. The only bonus to her being sick is that she wants to cuddle all the time!

She's Getting Too Big!
So I know this is such a small thing but as a mom I can't help but be excited. Lexi has learned how to tie on her own. I was so excited when I looked over earlier and she was using the bunny ear method to tie the side of her shirt. She is very proud and is excited because now she doesn't need her teachers help to put on her tap shoes at dance. It takes her a minute but she can do it!
Here is a video I got of her tying her shirt and a picture of the finished product!
So yesterday, being Labor Day, Dirk didn't have to work. We had Ashtin for the day and decided to take all the kids to the rc air show at the airport. Our good friends and neighbors Brett and Britney Knight came with their nephew, Caleb. Also in the party were Dirk's dad, Jay, and his cousin Bret with his two sons, Parker and Dima, and their friend. It was so HOT! The kids loved watching the planes flying through the air. They had some really big ones. We also took them over to see the real planes and helicopter there on display. They thought it was great! Silly me I forgot to take my camera so I don't have any pictures of it at all. They had the Red Baron there and someone had built Snoopy's doghouse to fly. So they had a little "dog fight." They also had a to the death dog fight with some cheap planes that was fun to watch. When we left the kids were extremely tired and fell asleep almost at once in the car. Of course seeing the planes flying made Dirk want to get his out and go fly so guess what we did that afternoon? We went flying at Sky View. Surprisingly the kids really enjoyed an entire day of flying!

Alexia and Rayden's cousins, Navy, Sidnee, and Connor, spent the last two nights at our house. Their parents went away for a couple of days and Lex and Ray were so excited to have a sleepover! The kids had a blast all watching a movie on the couch bed. We had a great time with them here and We were even able to get to 9:00 church on time even with all the extra people to get ready.

Another Rayden Update
Rayden had another doctor's appointment today. They x-rayed his arm and you can see the new bone growth going on! He is able to take off the sling and splint today. He will still have to be somewhat careful with his arm for the next few weeks but now he has two arms again. He also has to really work his arm out to get it fully normal again but we're sure once he is used to having his arm back that will not be a problem. He is still favoring his arm and scared now that it is so exposed. He has a small bump on his upper arm you might be able to tell in the picture. The doctor said that within a year that will be gone so he is on the mend and still his energetic sweet self!

Our Big Night Out
So Dirk suprised me this weekend with a post anniversary date out on the town. He told me on Thursday that he had gotten us tickets to the Utah Festival Opera and that I better go out and buy myself some nice evening clothes. We went to see "The Most Happy Fella." It was a great show even Dirk loved it! Afterwards we came home and Dirk made me dinner. He made salmon fillets, baked potatoes, veggies, and shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. It was wonderful and a great surprise.

Rayden Update
Hanne took Rayden to the Orthopedic Specialist, Dr. Finlayson, today. Everything is looking good. He has to keep his arm strapped to is side for another week then he can take the wrap off for little periods of time to bend his arm at the elbow to help strengthen it. A week after that he goes back to the doctor and he is hoping to be able to take off the splint and wrap and have Rayden start some therapy moves! We are really excited that Rayden is healing so quickly. He has been quite the trooper this last week. Of course that might have something to do with all the attention and presents he has received this week! He especially loves the train setup his dad made for him. Here is a picture of him at play.
Ok so the last week has been a little hectic around here. First Hanne was at Girls Camp from the 23rd to the 27th. When she came home she had a lot of camp clean up to do. Then on the 29th we had a Sorensen get together at Reed's house. This ended up in Dirk and Hanne running Rayden to the emergency room when he fell out of the swing. He had snapped his upper right arm cleanly in two. It was a good thing that Rex was with us because Dirk almost passed out and Hanne went into immediate shock and couldn't think straight! Rex carried Rayden all through the emergency room and only left when Dirk, Jay, and Rex gave Ray a blessing. Then the week continued to be busy because Jake and Melese moved out this week and left for Nova Scotia last night. We are going to miss them and little Jacer so much!!!! We rounded off our week by going camping with our friends Brett and Britney Knight. We went to Red Banks in Logan Canyon. We spent Saturday in the paddle boat on Tony Grove lake. It was a great way to wind down and relax!
