Once again our family headed out in the night to the Pumpkin Walk last night. Lexi couldn't wait to show off her pumpkin she had made in preschool. She kept telling us that it was wearing her old clothes and had her name on it.
The weather was actually perfect. It wasn't very cold at all and the rain stayed away while we were there. It didn't take very long to go see all the pumpkins and Rayden couldn't get enough of them. He is a little bit of a pumpkin fanatic lately. It couldn't be because of all those trips to the pumpkin farm lately could it?
Here is a picture of the little guy with his cousin Ethan. Ray loved the witch's crow and thought it was great fun to pet the "bird." Ethan wasn't so sure. The funniest part was that Rayden wasn't afraid of the witch but he was afraid of the ladies at the end who were handing out cookies. They weren't even in costumes! He such an unpredictable boy sometimes.

Our Superhero!

Yesterday I finally got around to buying Rayden's Halloween costume. When we first bought it he threw a royal fit that he didn't like it and didn't want to wear it. When we got home I decided to try the costume/pajama's on him to see how they fit. He screamed. He kicked. He tried to undress himself. I finally got it on him and guess what happened? He won't take it off!

He loves the belt on the front and he loves the detachable cape on the back. He has been running around the house all day yelling, "I'm Superman!" At least I don't have to worry about him wearing Halloween I just have to worry about him wearing it out before then.

Another One Bites the Dust

Another one bites the dust Queen

This music video is honor of Dirk's latest loss of his gas airplane this evening. Here also is a outline of the life of his gasser plane.

From the day he got the engine we have had some stress, like when he tried to cut off his fingers with his redneck setup! Thanks Brett you are partly to blame, J/K!

Here is with our friend and neighbor Brett Knight putting the plane together earlier this summer while camping at Franklin Basin. Good times, good times.

This is the only picture we have of the completed plane with its #1 fan, Jace. We must remember the fun we had.

Here is the plane after its tragic end this evening. Amazingly all of the electronics and the engine (which was found 150 feet from the plane) survived the crash. The men took their time to scour Bruce Godderidges field to find all of the parts. So it is just the body that we lay to rest, eventually.

Weekend of Camping

Dirk and I hadn't done anything alone for awhile so we decided to go camping in the canyon this past weekend. We dropped the kids off at my sister Liesl's house and headed up. The weather report called for nothing but cold weather and rain and snow. We weren't deterred. We took the camper to Guinavah campground and found a beautiful campsite next to the river and the mountain. Even though it was raining on Saturday, Dirk and I put on our rain ponchos and headed up the nature trails and took some beautiful pictures of the fall colors. We were able to come back and have some hot chocolate and watch some of our favorite movies that we don't get to watch a whole lot. It was a great couple of days of being together and not having anything to worry about. It was nice to come home though and pick up the kids. It was great to know that they missed us and being able to hang out as a family and watch conference.
Fall is my favorite time of year! I love the colors and the crisp smell in the air!

My Birthday

So I have to say that my husband loves me. He spoiled me this year for my birthday. I woke up to a vase of beautiful flowers on the kitchen counter. Lexi had bought me some cucumber lotion that she kept asking me if I liked. When Dirk came home he told me there was more to my birthday present. He had my last name printed on my scriptures for me which is something I have wanted done for the last 7 years. Then he bought me the hymns on cd. He really does understand my love for music. He took me and the kids to dinner at Chili's. Then we went to Sam's Club where he bought me a DVD Recorder so I can dub all of our home videos to dvds and he bought me a new set of kitchen cookware.
I don't think I can or would complain about anything! He spent way to much money but I know he did it because of how much he loves me and the kids. He has been super sweet anyway since we found out I was pregnant. He does small things around the house that might normally be missed but I have found them since he also does a lot of big things lately like vacuum the entire house once a week for me so I don't have to carry the vacuum up and down the stairs. So now I have bragged about my wonderful husband and if by chance he actually reads this he might actually blush!

Baby Appointment #2

I had my second doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon. I took Lexi along with me because I thought she would enjoy seeing the baby and hearing the heartbeat. Truth be told her favorite part was the toy in the waiting room! I was in and out of my appointment in record time, 15 minutes from the time I walked in the office to the time I walked out!
They did another ultrasound since my last one looked like a blob. This one was so much better! Since Lexi was with me Dr. Craig took lots of pictures and took her time so she could show Lexi the different baby parts. Lexi loved when the doctor showed her the "little knee." Dr. Craig also took some 4D shots so Lexi could actually see the baby. Lexi thinks that in the picture it looks like the baby is sucking his/her thumb. She was enthralled and so excited now.
After the appointment we went to see Dirk and work. Lexi couldn't wait to show him the pictures of the baby and how "she" sucks her thumb. Lexi still maintains that this is her little sister she has been asking about though she said she would keep a brother.
Also here is a picture of me from the side to show all of you who don't believe me that, yes, at 12 weeks I am showing!

Our Weekend

Friday night Hanne's family all got together at Travis and Liesl's house to pick apples for the last year. Travis and Liesl are moving so we are taking advantage of their 8 apple trees before they are gone for good. Those who were there were Oma, Pop, Gretl, Travis, Liesl, their kids, Dirk, Hanne, our kids, and some neighborhood kids who wanted to help out.

As you can see Hanne got the easy job of keeping baby Clay happy and tasting the merchandise. It was a great fall activity and we were able to get all the apples picked before the rain came. Now all we have to do is take them to Oma and Pop's house to make them into cider!

Saturday we were back at Travis and Liesl's old house to help paint rooms and get it spruced up so they can put the house on the market. The kids had a great time playing until it started to pour in the rain so Hanne and Liesl took the kids to their new house to play while the guys finished the painting. After the guys were done they cooked dinner for the girls and then the girls went out shopping for a little while. What a great Saturday!

Sunday was the primary program at church. It is Lexi's first year in it and she was so excited! She had a line to say and she knew it by heart. She spent all morning practicing her line in her play microphone. Both Grandma and Granpa Sorensen and Oma and Pop Dixon came to watch her. She did so good! You could hear every word she said very clearly. She is so proud of herself!

This Week

So Lexi started an epidemic in our house. She was up and going again from the flu by Wednesday. Unfortunately Hanne caught the illness and was down from Wednesday afternoon to Saturday. And when we say down she was down! Dirk also caught the flu but luckily was able to keep functioning. Rayden somehow has missed the whole thing but we won't complain about that. We are just glad everyone is feeling better and life can resume it's normal level of craziness!

I had a Duh moment!

So for all of you who were trying to post comments and couldn't, it finally dawned on me why! I had forgotten to switch it so anyone could post. So now it is open to all. Sorry for my duh. My only defense is that I am pregnant and get really flighty sometimes. How do you like the new colors for fall?
