Tiny Moments Day 7

My kids are very excited to have their little brother join the family. They both love to talk to him and give him hugs and kisses all the time. They are both already great with him. My only problem is when they want to give him a hug or kiss they like to get as close as possible to the actual baby. That is why the picture of Rayden giving Simon a kiss is my bare and disgusting belly! They don't consider hugging or kissing my shirt good enough. So please don't look too closely at my stretch marks and cottage cheesey tummy. :) I just love that they are so excited and loving towards Simon!

22 Days and Counting!

This morning I was talking to Dirk about how ready I am for this baby to come. It's not because I am extremely uncomfortable or because I am overly anxious to get this pregnancy done with. I have loved most of my pregnancy and I am anxious to meet my little man but I finally figured out why I am so ready. I feel like I have been pregnant for a full 40 weeks instead of just 37 weeks. 3 weeks doesn't sound like much but it is amazing how time drags when you are looking forward to something. When I first found out I was pregnant my original due date was this Saturday, March 22. Hey and now I only have 22 days left to my new due date of April 9th! Since the 22nd was when I was originally due I feel so ready. I know that he could come anytime now and be considered full term but lets look at my last two pregnancies. Number 1 I had no contractions or anything so I was induced on my due date. Number 2 I had no contractions or anything and was induced a week before my due date since Dirk was to be out of town the next week. I do have contractions this time but I seriously don't think he is planning on coming before his due date. My kids tend to like staying cocooned. Just to get things straight I am not complaining here I am just being thoughtful. It is kinda like one of those weird things us pregnant women do when we are up earlier then our kids and don't know what to do with ourselves!

Tiny Moments Day 6

I am a little behind but I really want to use this moment as a tiny moment. Saturday was suppose to be a normal 'go with the flow' day but turned out much better then that. Dirk ended up going to Accurate to clean out his bays and pick up all of his tools and bring them home. (Yeah!!!) He took Rayden with him so that left me and Alexia home. We just couldn't stay home so we decided to make it a girls day out. We really didn't do much but we had so much fun. We went into town and did some shopping. Lexi has a birthday party this week and she takes picking out presents very seriously. We went to a few other places and just looked at stuff and talked. We were going to have lunch somewhere fun but Dad called and said he would meet us at home and we were going out with his parents to eat so instead we came home. We didn't stop our time together though. Lexi helped me wrap the birthday present and then we decided it needed a homemade card. Some of you know that Lexi LOVES to scrapbook with me. So we went downstairs and made a cute card. I did the cutting and she chose all the colors! It was fun just hanging out with my girl and just getting closer!
I think my favorite comment of the day was when I told her we probably wouldn't be able to go out just the two of us for a while was what she said. She said, "Yeah once Simon gets here he will have to come to because when he is hungry he will need you Mom." How does she remember these things? She wasn't even 2 when Rayden was born! I'm so glad she is such a thoughtful little girl.

Tiny moments Day 5

So this morning I had one of my doctor appointments. My sister Liesl was very kind to volunteer her husband Travis to watch the kids while she took their baby to the doctor also. Everything went fine and very quick and we were back in less than an hour. We had to go the grocery store when I picked them up. So Lexi was talking to me as I drove down the hill from my sister's house. She is very interested in which way you go to get to certain places. She has been doing good with gaining a sense of direction. Here is the conversation as we got to the stop sign.

Lexi: "Mom, which way are we going to go?"

Me: "This way. Do you know if it is left or right?"

Lexi: "Left?"

Me: "No."

Lexi: "Oh yeah right."

Me: "Yep, we are going right."

Lexi: "Yeah, we choose the right. Some people choose the left."

I had a hard time not laughing to hard. We then had a conversation on the two different meanings of the word "right." My kids say the funniest things that just make me smile and be glad I get to be their mom!

Tiny Moments Day 4

Ah the joys of 25 cent rides! I love going to Kmart for one reason, they have these rides out front. This is one store where I can guarantee that I will get out of there without any "I want..." or tears. My kids know that in order to get a ride they have to be really good inside. I don't know what I am going to do when Lexi gets too big to ride these but for now I am going to enjoy their happy faces when they see me pull out a quarter for each of them!

Tiny Moments Day 3

This morning was probably the best morning we have had in quite some time. Dirk, Lexi, and I were able to have breakfast together, on a weekday! This is the first time in five years that I think Dirk has even had breakfast. For those who don't know Dirk started a new job this morning. He used to leave the house at 6:30 am before any of the rest of us were ready to get up and get moving. Now he can stay home and have breakfast and actually talk to the family before he has to be at work! It was kind of strange having him home still as we started our day but SOOOOOOO nice. We didn't really tell the kids about Dad switching jobs and Lexi's face was priceless when Dad told her this morning. I wish I had the camera out. It would have made a great picture. So, no, I don't have a picture to post of this momentus occassion because, trust me, you do not want to see what I look like in the morning before a shower! It was just a very very nice morning and we are all looking forward to more in the future!

Tiny Moments Day 2

I have a great feeling of accomplishment today. I finished my first really big crochet project. I made this blanket for Baby Simon. I finished the edging last night. I never thought I would actually get it done but miracles still happen. I think it turned out really well and I have to say thank you to Sarah for teaching me how to crochet!

Timy Moment Day 1 Again

So I have 2 tiny moments today! My little girl is growing up! Today we went and registered her for Kindergarten. I was so proud of her. She passed her assessment with flying colors! She answered every question correctly and wanted to walk around the Kindergarten rooms afterwards. She was allowed to go in and look around. She is now very excited for next year. At registration they gave her a new little story. Check out the illustrator!


Lexi thinks it is pretty cool to have a "famous" uncle!

Tiny Moments Day 1

I thought to help pass the next month I would try Tiny Moments for each day.

Today's tiny moment is Lexi's braids! Every morning for the last 3 weeks I ask Lexi what she wants me to do with her hair and the answer is always the same, in 2 braids! I know I have complained and tried to convince her to try something else, but she is always adamant. So here is today's braid.

Seeing her happy face every morning once we are done reminds me that it is sometimes the little things that count the most. Anyways the braids do look so cute on her!

Train Show

What a great day! We went to the Train Show at the Ogden Train Station. Rayden was so excited. He loves trains so much and he couldn't wait to get there and see all the trains. On the way down to the station we saw a couple of trains. He got so excited. This picture is of him after he said, "I'll close my eyes and when I open them there will be another train!"

When we got to Ogden Station they had train rides for the kids. Here are some pictures of Lexi with cousins Conner and Sidnee and Rayden with cousin Navy.

The kids were so excited when we got inside. They had trains set up all over and they loved going from train to train watching them go around the track. Lexi loved the Hogwarts Express. I wish I had gotten a picture of this set up. The castle was amazing and Lexi loved the little figurines of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. After looking at a million trains we went outside and the kids had a heyday climbing on the "big" train. It was such a fun day for the kids and great to hang out with family for awhile!

Here are the kids on the big train: Rayden, Sidnee, Alexia, Connor, Navy. Also I want to say Congratulations to my brother Ian and his wife Patti. There little girl was born early this morning. She is gorgeous and you guys are going to love being parents!
