A Christmas Filled Weekend

We had a great weekend! Friday kicked it off by me getting the last of the Christmas shopping done, FINALLY! Then Friday night Lexi had her dance recital. She did a great job and was adorable. We missed the Ward Christmas Party because after Lexi's recital we went and got ice cream with Dirk's parents. We had a great time.
Saturday we didn't really do much more then hang out together as a family which is one of my favorite things to do. That night Dirk and I went to the Voice Male concert at Ellen Eccles Theater. For those who don't know Voice Male is an accapella group of six men. We went last year and loved it. This year was just as good. They mix humor and sincerity in celebrating this holiday season. Lexi and Rayden had a great time hanging out with their cousin Ashtin at my sister, Ilse's, house.
Sunday we went to church. After church we had the traditional turkey cooked by Dirk. It was very yummy. At first it smelled a little funny then we realized that Dirk forgot to take the bag of gizzards out of the middle before he put it in the oven! Whoops! It didn't ruin the meal at all though. Last night we went back to church for the Christmas Devotional. It was a great evening filled with Christmas Carols and a great Christmas message. I got to direct the YM/YW combined choir and also to sing in the ward choir. I LOVE music so this was a perfect way to start the week before Christmas off. All in all we had a great weekend and are looking forward to this next week which has many fun activities for us!

I thought the devotional was such a nice way to invite the Christmas spirit. The choir sounded lovely as did the ym/yw. I love that last pic. You guys look like a perfect family.
